Circo’s maternal grandfather, Frank Odorisio, arrived in the United States in 1910 as an immigrant from central Italy. Unable to speak a word of English, he began selling newspapers on the downtown streets of Omaha. He later became the owner of the Nelson News Company which was the premier distributor of magazines, paperback and hard books, racing forms and other important periodical publications in the greater Omaha metropolitan area.
Olive Juliette Odorisio Circo, daughter of Frank and Olive Odorisio, was a highly successful high school and college student, and broke many glass ceilings in her life. She was the first female cheerleader at the previously all male Creighton Jesuit University in Omaha, NE. She graduated Cum laude and received many accolades for her academic performance. She was subsequently honored in 2006 as the first recipient of the Leader for Life Award from Creighton. She was also inducted into the Central High School Hall of Fame in 2021.
Sebastian Arnold Circo, Circo’s father, was born in 1918 in Omaha, NE to a very poor Italian family. He had a tragic sports injury which caused his ankle to be fused for life. He was able to overcome that injury and become a scratch golfer. Although he had hopes of being a professional athlete, the injury led him to accept a job as a janitor at the Ahlberg Bearing Company. Within a few short years, he became a manager of the branch of Ahlberg Bearing at 21, becoming the youngest manager for Ahlberg’s 30 locations around the US. Circo founded the Precision Bearing Service in 1945, in a small 1,200 sf storefront. This was the foundation for what subsequently became Precision Bearing Company and then was renamed Precision Industries by Dennis Circo in 1987 when he became the Chief Executive Officer. Sebastian Circo had a very colorful life. He was one of the original investors in the Union Plaza Casino in Las Vegas; was a member of the Full Blooded Italian (comically known as the FBI) golf group which included both Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin in Palm Springs where Sebastian had acquired a home in 1962.
Dennis Circo's Wife Heather, has been his companion and soulmate for over 25 years. She has been by his side as they traveled the world, made countless memories and she's been a vital member on the Circo Foundation board of directors.
